The Protection of Rights in the Technological and Environmental Transition: the Challenge of the Third Millennium

The third millennium, characterized by the epochal challenges of digital and ecological transformations, necessitates a reflection on the implications for human rights. In the 'Human Rights and Environment' section, some PhD students analyze and compare the factors contributing to climate change, examine its effects, and discuss solutions that have been developed to prevent or mitigate its progression. In the 'Human Rights and Technology' section, some PhD students explore the transformations that the use of new technologies is expected to bring about, which require a reinterpretation of traditional human rights and domestically protected interests. This book collects reflections by doctoral students in Law at the University of Messina Department of Law (35th, 36th and 37th PhD programmes).
